Privacy Policy

What we collect

Account information: if you create an account, we store the email address you sign up with and a hashed credential. We do not ask for your legal name to browse the site.

Watchlist and alert preferences: platforms you follow, deal or price alerts you opt into, and the settings that drive them. These exist only to deliver the alerts you asked for.

Analytics: aggregate, mostly de-identified usage data — pages viewed, general region, device and browser type, and referring links — so we can understand what is useful and fix what is broken.

Cookies: a small number of cookies for age confirmation, audience preference, and analytics. See our separate Cookie Policy for the exact names and purposes.

How we use it

To send the alerts and notifications you opted into (for example, when a followed platform's verified deal changes).

To personalize what you see — remembering your audience preference and watchlist so the site is relevant to you.

To measure the site in aggregate: which guides and reviews are read, where things break, and how to improve. We do not build advertising profiles about you.

To operate and secure the service, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.

How we share it

We do not sell your personal information.

Affiliate networks: when you click an outbound deal link, the destination platform's affiliate network receives standard click-attribution data (that the click came from Throbbs.Reviews, and technical referral parameters) so a commission can be credited. This is how we are paid. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

Service providers: we use vetted processors for hosting, email delivery, and analytics. They may process data on our behalf under contract and only for the purposes above.

Legal: we may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public.

Data retention

We keep account and preference data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or de-identify associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain records to meet legal, security, or accounting obligations.

Aggregate analytics that cannot reasonably be tied back to you may be retained to understand long-term trends.

Your data rights (CCPA & GDPR)

Depending on where you live, you have rights to access the personal data we hold about you, to receive a portable copy (export), to correct it, and to request its deletion. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

Self-service export and delete tooling is planned to ship in Phase 4, inside the members area. Until then, you can exercise any of these rights by emailing us and we will action the request manually.

Children

This is a strictly adults-only site. It is not directed to anyone under 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the product and the law evolve. Material changes will be reflected in the revision date at the top of this page.
